This inspirational old rambling farmhouse has been lovingly rebuilt and restored with original Tuscan stone and brick under a traditional orange tile roof. Called Poggio Velluto, it is decorated throughout with genuine Tuscan furniture and artefacts to create the true spirit of Tuscany.

The villa is set on a hill (‘poggio’ means ‘hillock’ in Italian) on sloping ground in isolated woodland to give an air of solitude and tranquillity – yet it is only 3km from the small village of Seggiano with its shops, bank and post office. There are also several very good restaurants in the vicinity for a real taste of Tuscany – or you can dine in comfort and style at home on the patio or under the shady pergola.

Guests of the villa are accommodated in two apartments with lockable interconnecting doors so they can enjoy a degree of privacy if two families or groups of friends are sharing. Each has its own kitchen, dining room and living room. The larger of the two offers four bedrooms sleeping eight while the smaller apartment has two bedrooms sleeping four.

The smaller apartment has enough room in one of the bedrooms for an extra single bed on request. Guests share a gorgeous swimming pool set in a high lawn above the villa where you can enjoy spectacular views of olive groves, woodland and vineyards.
