La Musignana is a typical stone and tile Florentine country house surrounded by wooded hills, vineyards and olive groves set deep in the San Polo countryside 25km southwest of Florence. Its location makes it ideal for families wishing to visit some of the historical centres in this part of the world. From La Musignana, you are only a short drive (18km) from the fast A1 Rome highway which takes you to Florence in one direction – and in the other, the historic delights of Arezzo (50km), San Gimignano (75km), Volterrra (100km), Chianciano Terme (105km), Pisa (115km) and Perugia (125km).

Parts of the villa date back to the 15th and 16th centuries and it has been thoroughly modernised and lovingly restored using traditional materials by the present owners. At La Musignana, you are surrounded by wooded hills and olive groves to give you plenty of delightful country walks. You can relax by the gorgeous swimming pool below the villa, followed by a delicious Tuscan dinner cooked by the owner, Mrs Nencetti (give her a bit of warning). What’s more, she is happy to teach you how to cook some of the traditional dishes she serves up!

The villa comprises two apartments; this one, Blu, which sleeps four people comfortably in two double rooms, and the other, Rosa, slightly downhill below it, also on the ground floor which sleeps two people in a double room and two more on a double sofa bed if needed.

Whichever apartment you choose, the larger Blu, or the more private Rosa with the spectacular views, at La Musignana you are assured of a lovely, relaxing, typically-Tuscan holiday near to Florence yet in the heart of the countryside.
